I started playing around with art in high school, as my dad has been a landscape artist before he took over the farm and I wanted to learn more about it. I fell in love with being able to create my own reality. When I graduated from high school I went to Red Deer College for Fine Arts where I got to learn all kinds of mediums. I struggled with painting realism (as you can see, most of my paintings are abstract), but loved watching the colors turn into something unique and beautiful. Drawing became a outlet for my creativity as I moved on from art school to graphic design to learn more about composition & creating things in digital space and then on to business and accounting. I recently started painting with watercolor and drawing with color pens instead of charcoal and graphite. The last row in my mini portfolio below shows some of the pages I have done in my Book of Shadows I am hand creating.
